ABOUT US

Mission
Our mission is to provide leadership and support for the enhancement of teaching and learning through the appropriate integration of technology for the Division of Academic Affairs. Included in our charge is providing equipment, hardware, software, information, resources, training, and support to faculty to improve and enhance instruction, research and service.

Philosophy
The Center for Instructional and Learning Technologies is committed to assist faculty in meeting the challenges facing higher education in the 21st century. We acknowledge the importance of technology, but also recognize that its use should be based primarily on UND's educational mission and values.

Aims

  • Provide a single point of access for faculty members to explore and develop uses of technology through regularly scheduled programming.
  • To develop innovative instructional products and applications for teaching.
  • Promote and explore best practices with faculty using technology in teaching.
  • Assist faculty in preparing to teach using alternative delivery methods, for both supplemental course materials and fully online delivery.
  • Serve as an advocate for the faculty in the design of all new construction and renovations of classroom facilities and provide support to the media-equipped classrooms.
  • Facilitate the demonstration, evaluation, and integration of educational technology in classrooms.
  • Collaborate with campus technology support providers to promote their understanding of the use of technology in teaching.
  • Establish and maintain an active involvement in the national agenda while promoting partnerships within the University, community and state.
